ADOPTION PENDING

Chad (named for Chadron, a city in Nebraska where the pups all came from) is the largest of the pups at almost 26#.  He is extremely handsome and I am guessing he would be termed the 'pick of the litter.'  He is smart and bold and the first one of the pups to try something new.  He is the "leader of the pack."  (If you are of a certain age, you will hear music with motorcycles in the background.)  He eats well, plays and plays and plays and then tips over and goes to sleep on a toy or two.  Funny boy!

Chad is capable of anything.  He could be trained as a one-on-one assistance pooch to love and support a human who would adore him.  He could go to school libraries where children who read below grade level could plop beside a friend like Lassie and read to him without criticism or judgement from an adult.  He could do formal obedience (even in the AKC since he will have his AKC registerable paperwork).  How about puppy training classes and see what he would like to do with his life?

Chad WILL be neutered when he is old enough on our dime.  He has had all the appropriate puppy vaccines including his first lepto.  He is microchipped with a Home Again chip and the lifetime registration is included.  He won't be old enough for a  1 year Rabies vaccine until he is 4 months old.

Chad (and all of these pups) will not be placed with a family that does not have at least one adult home a majority of the time.  If you work long hours outside the house, doggie daycare is not enough for a young dog.  They need to know who their very own people are.

Completed application first.  We can't even discuss possibilities without that important piece of information.  You will find it on our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org.  thanks for thinking of us.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
