Poppy is a 7 1/2 year old spayed female rough-coated Collie that is part of a duo of Collies that are recent RMCSR kids.  POPPY WILL BE PLACED ONLY WITH HER BEST BUDDY SQUISHY.   Poppy has good energy and wants to have more activity than she has had recently.  A regular walking program with a dedicated owner is the best way to keep a pooches' weight under control.  She is great with men, women, children and other dogs.  Her vet care is completed including a dental cleaning and she will not need any out of pocket medical expenses for at least a year.

We are great believers in keeping our beloved dogs with us through thick and thin.  But Poppy and Squishy are the survivors of a divorce.  And sometimes the human children need to take priority.  The dogs' mom searched out a safe place for them to go to guarantee that they would stay together and be endlessly loved.  We thank her for her kindness and love.

Please understand that the needs of the dogs are everything to us.  We begin with a completed application which you will find on our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org.  We check your vet reference and plan a home visit (or digital photos during COVID 19 if a home visit is out of the question.)  Any potential adopter will be interviewed by our Director and the foster mom.  We hope that you are the right home for the girls!

Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
