My Gal Missy is a nine-month-old sable and white rough Collie that was treasured by her human mom and dad.  She is a bit of a free spirit but when that energy is channeled into constructive activity and training, she will be a remarkable dog.

Missy is spayed and up to date on vaccines, microchipped with a Home Again chip, housebroken and used to lots of individual attention.  And here she is in a foster home with a gaggle of dogs.  That takes a bit of getting used to.  She is flying out the doggie door with two other young Collies, pouncing on each other in the snow and flying back in to tramp mud all over the floors.  Ah, the joy of weather change!

My Gal Missy will only be available to a family with Collie experience.  Collies are very sensitive creatures and need humans with that same kind of energy.  Kids would be great but no toddlers.  She would love to help her kids with homework, watch a movie and fall asleep with the knowledge that her humans will be there when she wakes up.

A completed application is our first step toward any adoption.  Please read about us and complete the online app at www.colliesheltierescue.org.  Our IT folks made it easy enough for me to do it.  That is pretty easy!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
