Heinz 57 is a name given with lots of affection to a tall and scrawny "combo dog."  As I look at him from different angles, I can see physical traits of more than just a couple of breeds.  His ears look like _.  His long legs look like _.  His face looks like _.  But someone will love him for who he is rather than what he is.  Heinz is beginning to respond to his name (not the 57 part, that is just for fun!)  He is about a year old, a neutered male with all the appropriate vaccines and microchip.  He comes flying to you when called and practically lands in your lap even when you are standing.  No dog has ever wanted to be loved and cuddled more.  On the first night here in my home, he jumped over the exercise pen of 5 feet, not to get away but to be where I was.  Then I tried our guest bathroom with a baby gate in front of it.  Nope. He sailed over it like it was not there.  A huge crate.  Not that either.  So I led him to the guest room and explained patiently that he would take the dog bed and I would sleep on the big bed.  That lasted about five minutes before he came flying onto my bed and landed right on my bladder.  LOL  Since that moment, he has slept with me, along with whatever other critters hop in and out of the bed during the night.  And that is also how I know that he is companionable with all pooches.  Only my Butler has had an issue with Heinz but that is Butler's issue, not Heinz's.

I believe that the ultimate best placement for Heinz would be a one on one with a man or woman that needs the kind of unconditional love that only a dog can give.  Heinz has boundless energy and loves to jump in the van with me and visit friends or go to Big R to choose a new toy (because Heinz has de-stuffed every much loved cow and chicken and duck in the house).  He happily carries tennis balls along with him just in case there in nothing else within reach to play with and he has a sense of humor.  I truly believe he could be trained to be an emotional support dog extraordinaire and give great comfort along with his unconditional love to someone who would fulfill that human/animal bond for him.

Photos don't do Heinz justice.  But here is one of him under my desk.  I would not dream of working without him here to watch over me.  I just want someone to love this big goofy boy as much as I do.
