A completed application is our first step toward any adoption.  You will find it on our website at www.colliesheltierescue.org.  Without that important step, it is impossible to have a meaningful conversation.

Beatrice (named for a city in Nebraska, her home state) is a sweet and friendly 10 week old rough Collie puppy.  She is fresh and clean from her "first-ever" bath today.  This picture is of her cuddling with her favorite groomer, Liz.  She walked nicely on a leash in the sunshine.  (Also a first!)  She has known quite a few Collies and loved them all.  Little Bea played with grandchildren on the breeder's farm.  She deserves to have a fabulous life and one committed family for all of it.

EVERYONE wants a Collie puppy!  But not everyone has a life that is well-designed to give a young pup everything they need.  A securely fenced yard is a must.  Folks need to be home with their young dog to guide her through puppyhood.  Long hours in a kennel daily is no fun for a puppy.  Please understand that we will make the best match possible for Beatrice.  Doggies first!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
