COMPLETED APPLICATION FIRST WHICH YOU WILL FIND ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  Without all of that basic information, we don't have a starting point for a meaningful conversation.

Sidney is a  lover!  He is a 10-week-old sable-headed white rough Collie puppy and there has never been a sweeter pupper.  Of the five pups that arrived from Nebraska, Sidney is the one that I find looking intensely at me as I clean the kennel area or pour in fresh drinking water.  Even as he was having his first-ever bath, he gazed into Liz's face so that the bathing was a bit delayed as Liz needed time to kiss his nose repeatedly.

Collie puppies are the gentlest of creatures and need lots of cuddling and quality time to come to their full potential.  At least one of the adults in the family should be around a majority of the time, perhaps working from home.  Kids would be fabulous, although toddlers might get bumped over with a wagging tail.  A fenced backyard with lots of shade for an occasional afternoon siesta.  A budget that will accommodate premium quality dog food and enrichment dog toys to stimulate a growing mind.  And love.  Lots of love.

Please understand that there are only five Collie puppies and not all of the applicants will be lucky this time.  But there are always more dogs.  Be patient.  The right dog will land in your arms at the right time.  Thanks for thinking of us.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
