THE FIRST STEP TOWARD ANY PLACEMENT IS A COMPLETED APPLICATION WHICH YOU WILL FIND ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  AN INQUIRY IS NOT THE SAME THING.  WITHOUT A TON OF INFORMATION FROM YOU, THERE IS NO PLACE FOR US TO BEGIN A CONVERSATION.

Adagio is a 2 1/2 year old bi-black Sheltie.  He is a neutered male who is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and has had a dental with multiple extractions.  Dage is quite shy, we assume due to lack of early socialization and loving handling.  He is making good progress and now makes eye contact and responds to his name when accompanied with lots of cooing noises.  Adagio is a work in progress and will need to be placed with gentle humans with no expectations.  It is a remarkable thing to watch a shy dog come out of their shell.  He will come with everything that is his.  Medical records, a cushy dogbed, his first toys (although he does not play with them, they are his), the dog food he is doing so well on, heartworm prevention and a copy of The Diary of Lucy Blue, a Puppy Mill Survivor's Story.

We will happily work with adults who want to make Adagio's life happy and fulfilling.  There are fabulous humans in the world.  We just need to connect with the right ones.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
