Mr. Moose, also known as Moosie Moose, or just Moo, is a sweet little Sheltie boy. He will look you in the eye as you talk love-dovey to him and give him kisses - and he's so cute that you can't help but keep giving this sweet little one lots of kisses. Hold on a minute - gotta give him another kiss!

Our vet told us Moose is about 8 years old, but he looks like a puppy. He got a haircut before he arrived at RMCSR, so he has short fur. (But he's still a cutie-patootie.) He has been neutered and had his teeth cleaned. His foster mom is trying to teach him to take care of his teeth by teaching him that brushing them can be fun!

Moose likely spent his 8 years all alone, neglected in a kennel or a back yard. He is a shy, under-socialized soul, easily frightened, and will need a pet parent who has lots of patience. His foster mom's personal dog, Jerry, started life with her as a skittish dog just like Moose. Over time, Jerry has come out of his shell splendidly. And Moosie Moose will too! He just needs a loving home. He's already spending time watching tv with his foster family, and he is learning to chew on toys!

Oh - and he is perfectly house-trained! What a good boy Moosie! He is nervous when taken outside but he does his business like a champ.

From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process.
