This lovely girl is Scarlett, a four-year-old spayed female tri-headed white rough Collie.  That is a mouthful!  She is a little on the shy side, but loving.  She came to us as an owner relinquishment from the family of a woman who died unexpectedly in Kansas.  Along with Scarlett, came the rest of her little family.  Her mate, Mac.  And her two adolescent sons, Finnegan and Henry.  She enjoys the company of other dogs, as well as cats, but would not mind being an only dog to absorb all the love in the world.

Scarlett has had her kibble changed to a more appropriate adult Collie food.  She is reluctant to eat due to all the changes in her life over the past week.  She has gone from her beloved owner to being locked outside, taken by car to a foster home in Wichita, moved to Colorado to another foster home.  Poor kid!  Dogs are such creatures of routine and her routine is totally disrupted and confused.  But Scarlett will make herself at home shortly with lots of handling and cuddling.  That is the basic nature of our remarkable Collie dogs.

Scarlett has been brought up to date on vaccines.  Her bloodwork is great and she is heartworm negative and microchipped.  All she needs is time to figure out what has happened in her life and how to make the best of her time forward.  I know she would love you.  If you would promise her forever.

We will be accepting applications for all four of the Collies.  Mac, Scarlett, Finnegan and Henry.  Previous adopters and those with Collie experience will always be given priority.  We can's wait to hear from you.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us.
