Eden is a glorious sable-headed white rough Collie.  She is 6 or 7 years old, an intact female  who believes that humans were put on the earth to caress her face and scratch her behind.  She is up-to-date on all vaccines and ordinarily we would have spayed her already.  But our Eden has heartworm disease.  It is so simple and inexpensive to prevent heartworm disease.  And it is expensive and rather complicated to treat and eradicate the same disease.

We are looking for a fabulous family to foster her during her heartworm treatment and fall in love with her so that she never leaves them.  This kind of foster-to-adopt program takes folks who are willing and able to learn the ins and outs of the disease.  We have coached quite a few fosters through the 6 months or so it will take to clear her of the entire heartworm infestation.  It is important for you to know that heartworm disease is not contagious.  And RMCSR pays for all of the related costs as well as the basic vet care like a spay etc.

From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process.
