ADOPTION PENDING

Maizie is an 11 week old rough collie puppy.  She is fluffy and funny and adores everyone and everything.  She plays like mad with the other five Collie babies in this group.  And she interacts with adult Collies like all obnoxious youngsters do.  Rough and tumble, eat a bunch of puppy kibble, take a well-deserved nap, get up and pee and start the cycle all over again.

We are looking for just the right match for Maizie and all of these precious puppies.  At least one adult needs to spend the majority of their time at home with a puppy during their formative months in the first year of life.  The time spent will really show in making a confident and content young dog.  Please don't apply for any of the pups if all the adults in your household work long hours.  We would hate to disappoint you but with us, it is dogs first.

We have a few fabulous applications for the six puppies, especially the females.  So, if a Collie puppy is likely to be in your future, we need to hear from you sooner rather than later.  Maizie is healthy and robust and has all the appropriate puppy vaccines.  All of her body functions are regular and normal.  Inspite of her AKC registerability,  Maizie will be spayed (at  our cost) when she is old enough for that to occur.  The current thought of veterinarians is that pups should be given some extra time for natural hormones to strengthen bone density.  So 6-8 months will be the target.

I told Maizie that I would be posting her for adoption this evening.  She asked me to tell you that she will help review potential adopters.  After all, she is related to Lassie in some way!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
