Update  Kody is well enough to be released from El Paso Animal Hospital in Wichita, KS. after 12 days in Intensive Care and an emergency surgery to remove an abscess on his liver.  What a journey for this little man.  Lisa Weeks is our foster mom in Wichita and will care for Kody during his recovery.  I will ask Lisa to share some photos and pupdates.

Kody (with Patron as an addition because it was National Tequila Day) was brought to a Veterinary Hospital in Wichita, Kansas to be euthanized because of a collapse from heat prostration.  (It is not the best time to ask me what I think of humans in general!)  Because we have helped with lots of Collies and Shelties in that part of Kansas, one of the staff vets called and asked if we would consider taking on this little bitty senior Sheltie.  And Kody certainly deserves a chance to recover from this tragic neglect if he can, so we said, YES."

He is still on IV fluids with antibiotics and glucose and vitamins and electrolytes.  And that is how his poor little leg developed phlebitis which is an inflamation of a vein.  Poor little man!
