Miss Willow, also known as Willow Armadillo (because it rhymes) and Bitchy-Pants II (oops, did we say that out loud?) because her foster mom had a bitchy-pants gal she just recently lost, is a cutie-patootie little Sheltie girl. But why does she have such a nickname? Well, Willow is an acquired taste, just like a fine wine. No, she doesn't get wine, but she has been known to whine! Willow gets along with other dogs fairly well, unless they get in her way, or come close to her kennel when she's inside, or when they come close to her when she's eating. She definitely guards her food, so she's fed in her kennel (as are the rest of the dogs in the home). Her foster mom says this is best for everyone's sanity!!

We think little Miss Willow would do best as an only dog. We also think Miss Willow would do best in a FEMALE ONLY home. She is very shy at first (her foster mom says it took about three days for little Willow to come out of her kennel and spend time with her). She's a Sheltie, and while we hear there are Shelties who love being lapdogs, Miss Willow isn't one of them. She is her own doggie! Like many female doggies, she LOVES to get butt scratches; her foster mom gives her lots of those in order to bond with her. Miss Willow is about 7 years old, has been spayed and had her teeth cleaned. Her foster mom is teaching her to take care of her teeth by showing her that brushing them can be fun! We noticed that her thyroid levels were low, so we started her on medicine to bring her levels up to normal. She has lost several pounds since starting her meds, and is now at a good weight. We are hoping the meds might help level out her attitude a bit, as well. Willow is perfectly house-trained, does fairly well on walks (which she loves - don't all dogs?) and is looking forward to finding her loving, forever home!

From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process.
