Luke Skywalker is an attentive and affectionate young man. He’s very smart and learns quickly. He loves paddling in water, whether it be his water bowl, a mountain stream or a lake! He barks when first seeing another dog but likes everyone he meets. He’s great around cats, horses and children. If you lay on the floor he’ll plop down next to you for cuddles and if you give him one kiss, he’ll kiss your face until it shines with puppy slobber. He still pulls on walks, but we’ve started learning life’s basics. He is very quick with sit, partially has stay, down and heel. He’s very food motivated. He’s 99% house trained, but still needs to get up at 4:30am to tinkle and 5:30am to poop. He goes out frequently during the day to go potty. He jumps into the truck and sits proudly in the front seat as we drive. 
He’s still a baby and as such NOTHING is safe. If he can put it in his mouth and chew it up he WILL. Reading glasses, the remote, phone chargers, shoes, hummingbird feeders, you name it, if he can get it, he’ll destroy it. If you think your house is puppy proof, you’ll soon find out you’re wrong… he will have several more months of chewing before he settles down.  ❤️

Luke's vet care is complete.  He is neutered and UTD on all vaccines, microchipped and has his own collar, leash and harness furnished by his adoring foster mom, Pam.  Please read all the requirements for adoption before applying for Luke or any of our dogs.  We hate to disappoint people but it is always Doggies First!

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us.
