WE NEED A COMPLETED ADOPTION APPLICATION BEFORE WEW CAN DISCUSS ANY PARTICULAR DOG.  YOU WILL FIND IT  ON OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org.  PLEASE READ ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION.  WE HATE TO DISAPPOINT PEOPLE BUT THE FENCED YARD IS ETCHED IN STONE.

Calico is new to RMCSR.  Yes, we noticed that Calico is a Border Collie and not the traditional Collie or Sheltie that is available through our organization.  But she needed us and every rescue group around this region is completely overwhelmed.  So, my mantra, as always, is SPAY and NEUTER, SPAY and NEUTER, SPAY and NEUTER.

Calico is the quintessential Border Collie.  Small and lean and very quick.  Her coloring is lovely and she is learning manners at the speed of light.  The most endearing characteristic about Calico is the way she looks into your eyes and seems to melt into your being.  We have not seen her with children yet but all adults are there to be her friends.

She is spayed, heartworm negative and completely vaccinated.  No fleas or ticks and seems to be housebroken.  Microchipped.  Happy, happy, happy!  What you will need to add is love and training.

Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Adoption Policies and, if we sound like the right group for you, fill out our online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You then will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously.  Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
