Maizey

I recently spoke to  Sheri Calfee, the adopter of one of our more rambunctious dogs, Maizey, and she asked that I post a success story about Marvelous Maizey.

Maizey is a very pretty, thinner tri-colored Sheltie whose made it her mission to guard her back yard against intruders. It seems that Maizey guards the yard against squirrels, birds, drones, airplanes, or anything else causing a sound; Maizey makes sure they do not disturb her yard. A DO NOT DISTURB SIGN? Don't bother, because Maizey makes sure her yard is not disturbed. That's her job!!

Bless Sheri's heart for taking in this little pup-pup. Maizey needed a special place to call her own, and she has found a very special place with Sheri.

Thank you for adopting our Marvelous Maizey, Sheri!

Maverick

Hello Hope and Tom,

Mike and I wanted to update you on how big boy Maverick is doing.  In a word,  GREAT! He seems to love the snow and we get such a thrill watching him, run (lope, hop) around in the yard.  He is having such a good time in it!  He is becoming much more social.  He will  approach Mike for pets and will play with him in the yard.  His  morning routine is crazy!  He comes over to my side of the bed and  puts his big head on the mattress; tailing wagging away!  Time to get  up!  He almost tried to jump on the bed the other day!  Evenings are  the best, he'll lay on the floor and let me pet him (Mike is in charge  of petting Miley - everybody gets their petting time)  and even brush him a bit.

Yesterday, I was sitting in my chair and he came over and laid his head on my lap!  His is so affectionate.  If you lean to him, he will nuzzle your neck with his nose!  He is touching noses with you too!  Such a warm feeling to have gained his trust so quickly.  We are working on the basics, sit, come etc.  His leash manners are  wonderful.  He practically prances.

We have introduced him to one of our "doggie" friends and he let "George" approach him and gently pet
him.  He is getting more adjusted everyday. He has started to "race the fence" with Miley when someone is walking behind it and he actually barked a few times.  For now, he seems to let Miley handle  the barking activity when necessary, but you get the feeling he is making the yard his too!

We simply adore him and he is such a sweet boy!  I'll keep you posted as we go along, but rest assured he is HOME and I think he knows it too!

Warmest regards
Mike and Diane

Moose

Hi Karen ,

Moose  has come so far in the past couple of months.  He and Sassie play tag in the back yard and he even plays with toys. We love this little guy so much.

I thought you might like these pics of  Moose on our walk today.  Everyday he comes out of his shell a little more!

Thanks again, Madeline
