On Memorial Day, a big glorious Collie arrived from a shelter in Kansas.  He had a non-descript name and was badly in need of a bath and a brush.  Two days later, that same big glorious Collie named himself Liberty and displayed a gleaming black coat from underneath the dredlocks and crud.  Liberty is five or six years old, neutered and in perfect health.  He is loads of fun with other critters and is "especially special" with all humans, young and old.  I have always loved dogs with a sense of fun and Liberty certainly has that.  He prances like a show pony and his tail never stops wagging.  And in the middle of a walk, wherever we might be, whether on grass or tromping through the weeds, he will flop over and start wiggling on his back with a huge smile.  A few seconds of that and he jumps up, shakes all over and continues with whatever we were doing before his escapade.  He makes me laugh!

Liberty needs a fabulous life to complement his intelligence and charm.  I have seen him plop his big head gently into the lap of a woman in a wheelchair.  And I have seen him try to make himself small so as not to scare a young child.  It would be wonderful if we could find him a family that would make it their mission to fulfill his promise.  Please tell us how you could make that happen as his potential family.
